![]() ![]() I did fit them once I found that out (from this forum) them but they still seem to leak so maybe to get a leak free OD you need the copper washers *and* the breather clear. Copper washers are supposed to be fitted but guess what, mine was rebuilt twice, once by a gearbox specialist and once by a well known parts supplier and neither had fitted the copper washers. ![]() That means oil can flow along the bolts to the outside. ![]() Just for general information for anybody searching OD leaks, a really common cause is that some of the studs that hold the overdrive together go through to the inside where the oil is. I'll be checking that breather hole at the weekend, to think I might have put up with a leaky OD all that time over something so simple. Mine looks pretty flat, but I'll give it a closer inspection to make certain. They are made by Laycock de Normanville, just as the those found on Triumphs are. I rang the supplier and they didn't want to know at all. I got it for 150.00, including shipping, but I don't think 212.00 is a bad price for one. I got so fed up with it leaking in 2000 I bought an exchange J type unit and fitted that. It went back to the gearbox place several times but they were unable to cure it. My overdrive has always leaked since it and the gearbox were rebuilt. ![]()
